Jacques,

I spent some time looking at the "no fall-back" problem you keep 
mentioning, and I can't duplicate the problem.

I commented out the French translation of PartyInvitation, changed my 
language setting to French, cleared the cache and the label fell back to en.

When I uncomment the French translation of PartyInvitation (and changed 
the wording to make it different than English), cleared the cache and 
displayed the page, the French translation appeared.

I repeated the steps several times and it always worked as expected.
