Just one question, what PRC stands for in "but unless we somehow made that
official ASF infrastructure there are PRC as well as
survivability issues with it" ?

Ha, I found it : Public Relation Commitee (I found a clue in the previous
report : Ted Husted :o)

I'm confused, do you mean aside from the issues I listed in my initial write
up (that was included in the board report)?

In addition to those issues, for Confluence (docs.ofbiz.org) there is no sense
investing time in migrating it to cwiki.apache.org
if we're only going to move it to an OFBiz instance running somewhere in a few
 months.

Also, to complicate things further we still need to figure out where the demo
instance of OFBiz and the instance we'll use to
manage the project (replacing Jira, Confluence, possibly the web site and
various other things) will be hosted. The answer to
that question may help with some of these other issues.

If infra can find a place, they could setup a demo instance right away (there
is nothing move for that... just checkout, build,
install, run)... but I don't know if they really have a place and I'm not sure
the Hudson spaces will be adequate for it.

The API and daily builds are probably easier, and there isn't really anything
to move for those I don't think... just setting it
up based on the OFBiz SVN repo.

David,
I copied the intention on the [email protected] list on Jan25.

My intention was to first move and then change the installation to what
we wanted. At that time i did not see any problems from our end. Do we
have them now?

Hans

That's an interesting link, and an interesting start of a
conversation... though somewhat surprising.

However, what do you mean when you wrote that we are ready to move? As
described in the board report there are various barriers to a move...
and this is complicated quite a bit by wanting to move to running many
of these things on OFBiz instead of on existing ASF infra tools
(especially Confluence and Jira).

Whatever the case... could we at least coordinate within the community
before approaching infra? They're going to get pretty confused by
varied and inconsistent requests coming from OFBiz!

In the last few days I heard of a couple of people approaching ASF
infra without any mention of it on the dev or at least the private
mailing lists (though I think dev IS the place for this conversation
and coordination).

You might want to mention the issue i raised about the Apache

I wrote an early rough draft for the Board Report for Mar 2009. It is
available here:

This is not finalized yet and there are a couple of days left
before I
have to submit it, so please send comments and thoughts to make it
better and more complete!
