Pierre Smits commented on OFBIZ-7079:
-------------------------------------

I don't believe that having different inventoryItemId settings when having
multiple warehouses and overriding the setting on the product will fly. I have
never seen the requirement before in real life. It will create more confusion
and work arounds in the business domain.

Suppose this is and inventory in of the product in the warehouse, with the
serialisation set, is on hold (as per other issue OFBIZ-7094), it is then easy
to move it to the warehouse without serialisation set and the inventory is then
available for delivery...

But if someone can provide an actual business case I will revisit my position
on this.

The setting on a warehouse should only be applied as the default choice on an
inventory item, when none has been set on a product level. Otherwise the
setting of the product is the default choice for the inventory item.
