I agree that we should release a new version (see possible release notes:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=12314520&v
ersion=12326246).

As well I agree (and give +1) for "2.0.0" as new version number.
According to my +1 I would volunteer as release manger if there are no
objections  ;o)
