Hi together,
For the release of "Apache Olingo OData 4.0.0-beta-01" Java library parts
the current voting state is as follows:
2x +1 (sklevenz, mibo)
0x -1
And a discussion about NOTICE and LICENSE file updates for "slf4j"
dependency.
For the sake of clarity: it not just about SLF4J, it's about reviewing
any non-ALv2 dependency to check if notice is required and, if so, to
add it to the relevant NOTICE file(s).
It would be nice to get more votes, discussions or opinions so we can step
forward to a release or second release candidate.
So please share your vote or opinion ;o)
Kind regards,
Michael

For my understanding of the relevant pages on the ASF site, and my
experience, LICENSE is for licenses, NOTICE is for 3rd party notices;
the problem I see is that the NOTICE files have just the default
content, even when notice is required; I agree that notices are anyway
reported in the LICENSE files, but I do believe they have to go into
NOTICE files.
I am not sure, though, if this is blocking for this release and can be
fixed with next ones.
I think for this release it is not a blocking issue and for further
releases an option/solution would be to add an according notice in the
NOTICE file and leave the additional mentioned license in the LICENSE
file.
Perhaps somebody else could assist on this question.
Kind regards,
Michael
