Krum,

I have not been active since the past year and a half, but do plan to start
committing more time. However, I would typically look at JIRA and find any
outstanding issues which interest me. Then you can submit a patch which will
be reviewed and applied for you. If you want to work on an issue and have a
question, just ask on the dev list.
