I use Stateful for RMIIO streaming of large binary (anything over 10mb). Theoretically it is possible that each client (up to 15-20 per application, with an application count unlikely to go above 5-10) may hold one or more statefuls at any one time, and that may last for a considerable amount of time depending on the size.
This all fits nicely within a rounded up 300 and I have so far never had an issue. I know my scenario is probably very specific, so I am just writing this to convey a sample usage.
