Hi Roger, Have you tried to deploy OpenMRS with JBoss Application Server? Tomcat is just a Servlet Container, but JBoss is a real Application Server.
Before , i also had the problem OutOfMemoryError, and i haven't yet had this kind of error since i used JBoss. But i am still not sure if using Jboss could help us to reduce or avoid this problem. If you want to try, you should not try JBoss 4.0 or lower, because they use Tomcat and we could encounter the same problem. see http://community.jboss.org/wiki/VersionOfTomcatInJBossAS. You can try JBoss 5.0 or upper, because they use thier own Servlet Container JBossWeb, and not Tomcat anymore. Currently i am using JBoss 6.0.0.Final.
