FWIW – there are potential options for making links to github – e.g., the JIRA
Git 
Plugin<https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JGIT/JIRA+Git+Plugin>.
 So, while we might need to put up with good ol' hyperlinks for now, things
could get better in time.
