Thanks Burke,
I have created a ticket for this here:
https://tickets.openmrs.org/browse/TRUNK-3027. Another use case for
some sort of event publish/subscribe mechanism?

I believe this was by design, since authentication shouldn't be
something that can be easily overwritten. We had mocked up
AuthenticationScheme a while ago to address issues of alternate
authentication schemes (like LDAP). We could also add hooks as needed
for folks that wanted to listen to authentication events.

Hi all,
I am trying to prototype some additional logging around user
authentication attempts. I am trying to do this from a module,
and it doesn't seem like this is possible via AOP since none of
the authentication methods are exposed via services, but are
instead direct methods on the Context and UserContext. Am I right
in this conclusion? Is there another method I might use to
reliably accomplish this?
Thanks,
Mike
