Is something like that possible/difficult/easy to do? It will be a huge
improvement for complex documents.
mmh, this should be quite easy possible. It looks mainly as a
rearrangement of the controls we already have. But I would like to hear
an opinion of others as well.

I like the rearrangement too.
I don't know how many types are possible, I count 7. The type box needs
to be large enough, so that no scrollbar is needed.
Nearly the same dialog is in Edit > Fields.
I think, that such rearrangement is a nice "easy hack".
It seems that hanya already hacked it.
See the patch attached to issue 122351 [1].
I propose to integrate it into trunk for AOO 4.0.
Anybody volunteering for patch review and integration?
