Hi David,

that doesn't sound too good. What program did you use to check for duplicate programs? I'd think the best thing to check for this is to open the control panel and then check "programs and features". You'll see a list of installed software and you'll be able to see whether something is there twice. I wouldn't trust some software to check this.

Anyway, I'd suggest you'd check the program list in your control panel anyway since it's likely that the programm which deleted your Apache OpenOffice is still installed on your compute. Uninstall this program. And I also guess that the incomplete installation of OpenOffice might show up in the list. Uninstall this, too, then try to reinstall OpenOffice from our page (http:/www.openoffice.org). If it still doesn't work out please feel free to come back to us.

Good look!

Max

I have been using Apache Open Office for a couple of years now.
The I ran a program that would supposed to delete duplicate programs and it
wiped the program off my disk.

Now when I try re-loading Open Office from your site, the thing progresses
to the point of the green bar almost but not quite filling on PREPARING
YOUR INSTALLATION then it freezes, like for overnight, four times. Neither
it or the disk icon in the Windows 7 system tray can be removed unless I
reboot the computer.

Awful. I wish I could reload it. The program is really competing with
Microsoft Word. As a senior on Social Insecurity, your program is a
miracle. Thank you.
