OK. I've always wondered about this myself, so I looked it up. It looks like there are various guidelines, but generally the aim is to avoid confusing the user. One style guideline (New York Times) says to use the apostrophe in cases where an acronym uses periods, but not otherwise. So M.D.'s, but CDs. http://afterdeadline.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/13/faqs-on-style/?_r=0 -Rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org
