Just by reading the replied it should be clear to you, that when writing to a public mailing list, mails are in fact public. As you yourself write "it for the use of the intended recipient(s)" and nothing else has happened here. The mailing archive you refer to are subscribed to the list, and therefore an "intended recipent". Rgds jan I.
