I realize this. It's just that not all of our PMC members can immediately
do a build as soon as a release candidate is announced for testing. A week
for voting would at least include a weekend for folks to catch up. Given
the number of platforms we should be building and testing for a final
release, I think a longer vote timeframe is desirable.

OK, but this is after the fact. After the RC has been approved.

I understand what you're saying here. Still, I think we should have more
time for voting on the final release candidate. When we first started out
at Apache, we had some requests for a longer voting time on a release
candidate. Sometimes this happened, and sometimes it didn't.
