Patricia, the OpenOffice architecture material has not been maintained in a long time.
It appears that pacbell.net is long gone and folks personal accounts with it. In this case there is a prominent John Ousterhout and there might be another location for the PDF if we could figure out its title or topic. This might be relevant: <http://web.stanford.edu/~ouster/cgi-bin/papers/threads.pdf>. Interesting about events over threads. That seems to be where Windows is going. I don't know how that helps us in the case of the profile code though. If you think that is the intended reference, we could correct the wiki page. I've added it to the Discussion page for now.
