is just the tip of the update, one has to look at the other modules where ICU
is used, update the code and test it, which is usely done best by people with
an eastern background. It is a lot of work and the chinese IBM team never got
to finish it, but a lot of the hard work is done already within the Symphony
trunk already :).

FWIW, it did happen that IBM donated the code for Symphony (their OOo fork) to
the Apache Software Foundation and it was in a subversion branch, but it either
was never moved to git, or it was automagically dropped due to inactivity.
In addition to improved ICU support, it also had an enhanced VBA
implementation, otherwise I think most was already in AOO.
