Hi all,

I tried with 4.1.15_GB, 4.1.14_GB and 4.1.15_US and all resulted in the same
error.

Although, I found an old dev build, which seems to want to be
4.5.0_1_linux-4.15-x86_64, and that works without issue.

All the best everyone,
Dean

Subject: Re: General Error when saving and opening documents in Writer

Hi Aivaras,

No this does not seem to be the case.

I can save the document. Only the first save gives the error, any sequential
save does not give this error. If I use save as, only the first save gives the
error, any sequential save does not give this error

I could try to troubleshoot the install if there is a verbose output for
soffice I could be looking at, or a diagnostic tool I could use.

Out of curiosity I ran soffice as root, and the error persisted, but still good
to check. What was interesting, is this seemed to load a new profile (asking
for user details and losing user preferences), but this seems to be intended
behaviour :)

Thanks,
Dean

Hi Dean,

Could it be that your document is set to “read-only?” (Read-only
documents can only be “saved as.”)
