i think the current build system creates a oxt, but i have not that feature yet in bazel.
Currently i can only build a frankenstein, between mysql and mariadb.
But i learned some things from that.

MySQL has a new connecton 2.x with a new api.

MySql and mariadb are not really the same, you can not mix them, but i read some things should work, but from the code issues i had i dont believe it on the aged code i used.

But i want to try the frankenstein i have. i am curious.

So in future we need to build a seperate for mariadb and for mysql. For the later, it is a bit annoying to download the source from oracle, so i would then store that on sourceforge. But not now. The connector is more a sidequest.
