I think is anyhow naturally and ligitimate that there are differentiators between OOo and StarOffice. Immediately blame Sun and call this "SUN blocks" is an offense in my opinion. The interfaces for implementing a mail service for email merge are open and not closed source so everybody is allowed and encouraged to implement such a service. Fell free to take over the responsibility to do it for OOo and the community (see my reply to Roderick for more information or just ask me for details). I acknowledge that the description on the second page of the mail merge wizard is a little bit misleading but this is rather a bug.
