Hi, thanks for your answer, the hint with the page field is nearly the thing i was looking for. sorry if I am wrong here, the next thread I will start somewhere else... (: but the page number is not what i wanted. I have a large document, about 100 pages, with lots of tables in it. the tables are created with repeat heading activated. only some of the tables are longer than one page. in the head of the table i have a field with the mentioned page 1 of 1 in it. which is nearly every table. is there a way to count the pages of the table, instead of the page count field? I could start and stop the page numbering at each side, but this would generally break my whole document page numbering. kind regards sebastian > > While this might not be the optimal list to ask,... you might wand to > insert a field "page number" into the heading cell (Insert->Fields-Page > Number). On the second page, this field is then expanded to the actual > page number.
