Additionnaly, CSpace is not even an Instant Messaging program...

It's a protocol. One of its practical applications is Instant Messaging. 
Another application is remote desktop, like VNC. Another one could be to send 
Open Document files on a P2P basis. Therefore, it could be a collaboration 
tool for OOo.

So, it could be implemented directly into OOo, with _no_ reference to any 
Instant Messaging program at all.

An addon could be a first step. If this protocol gets success ( = a large user 
base) in a few years, this addon could even be integrated into OOo's core.

And yes, it makes no sense if no actual CSpace developers get involved.
