Hi

the idea was, to make CSpace a component of the Open Office Suite.

Openoffice.org has 6 components like Word Excel Powerpoint etc.

Open Office is short "OO".

A 7th one could be a Messenger: CSpace.
We could call it "CSapce Oh Oh Seven" - So spoken "Cyberspace OO7". As it would
be the 7th component of the suite.

I asked in the developer forum.

There are different ways to integrate it:
Integrated to the core or as an ad-on or just bundled into the installer.

The concerns are:
- no MAc and solaris version
- need to make a subproject for that component to translate into 60 languages
and make the gui look and feel like OO.
See here the logo:

(or with the "C" in the bubble)
- A lot of work
- question of cooperation with CSpace developers
- Some did not understand, that a Messenger is today a component of an office
tool and they ask why CSpace and not AOL (as they do not see that Cspace is not
related to any central server, not to any company and is decentral userbased
like a p2p protocol). As CSpace is worldwide the first DHT p2p messenger, OO
coudl be ahead!

The conclusion is, that a first step is possible, if developers have time for
Open Office and as well the core developer of CSpace can help with advice,
though they have own goals to develop, only the updated versions need to be on
the same level in both distributions.

I sent you this mail, that you can read the discuission for documentation here:

http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/BrowseList?listName=dev&by=date&from=2006-07-01&to=2006-07-31&first=1&count=302

To invent a new project with the established Open office thing is quite dry,
and my offer to do all translations and project management has not found any
support except one.

Feel free to contact developers or send your opinion as a user, if you need a
Messenger in the open office suite. I thought it woudl be a nice idea and both
could profit from it.

As well sometimes it is a question of honour: wannebe leaders say as long as
they have to do the work no, until they themselfs reinvent the idea and then do
the job, this is ok, as they do the job, but it is not a good workaournd with
them, as for the process and the result it woud be much better, to have a
cooperation.

As CSpace and OO is only established, if there is a good cooperation, I take me
back and hope developers amoung each other have a better one.

Kind Regards to OO, I am back to CSpace only.
