Hi,

I'm student in computer science at Université Paris V René-Descartes.
I'm part of a group of 4 student who have to work on a project from
frebuary to may. This project must be in Java. Seems that i will be the
group leader (not yet decided however).

We are searching a project for this period. I had the idea to implement
real-time collaborative feature in OpenOffice.org, using Jabber. I want
to be compatible with Abiword for writer, and implement the feature in
Calc.

It seems that no one start to work on this feature. See
http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?listName=discuss&msgNo=44023

I would like to implement this as an extension in Java.

The project will include connection management (in preference dialog), a
toolbar to manage the collaboration, a Jabber XEP for Writer (from or
equal to the one from Abiword) and for Calc. The project is quite fuzzy
right now, but the goal is clear : implement open real-time
collaboration for Writer and Calc.

Before starting the work, i need confirmation from our teachers. I sent
a mail to teachers. I'm waiting for confirmation.

Kind regards,
Étienne.
