Hi Etienne,

good idea, why must it be in Java? Have you python knowledge as well?
Maybe this is changeable after communication with the teachers?

You want an instant messenger for Open Office Writer and Calculator and as well
maybe fro AbiWord?

Well, If you discuss in online-teams business things for calculator or to write
together in a word pad, then you need a secure environment for that messenger.

There is a new instant messenger, which do no need servers like jabber,
it is serverless and fully decentral by a p2p kademlia dht.

http://cspace.in

as well a linux port exists.
The coders themselfs play around for a XUL-extension for firefox, thunderbird
and songbirdnest.com

There has been alreay the suggestion to implement this Messenger as well into
Open Office as a own application, but an extension would be perfect.

Cspace allows as well to habe VNC remote look on the screen, so you can
identify the formula in calculater or the layout in word.

So this seems to be perfet for this.

If you can decide within the groups for cspace, maybe a port to java must be
done, but for 4 months this is impossible and the goal is an integration in
firefox and openoffice. So maybe if you have python knowledge or XUL-Knowledge,
you can ask the teachers to be comfortable as well with pyhton, as the real
coding in both projects would be XUL with the goal for Instant Messaging in OOo
and Thunderbird.

Maybe this is an idea for you and your team, so maybe forward this mail to your
team

Kind regards and merry christmas,
if you like, send me your Cspace-ID
for further discussions.
