Thank you for giving me some hope again

I have attached a sample document, which contain some field functions and
includes some explanation

When you open the document with MS Word and afterwards with OOo Writer, you
should see all the differences.

Greetings
Robert

I think it *should* be possible. You must differentiate between the
metat data and the fields displaying them. The update of the meta data
before a document is stored can't be suppressed ATM but it should be
possible to prevent the update of the field content. OTOH it is possible
that the meta data change automatically triggers a field update... That
would be as correct as unfortunate for you.

Well, until we don't see such document we can only speculate. If you
can, you should create an issue and attach a sample document that shows
your problem (I assume you can remove any private or confidential data
before).

Best regards,
Mathias

I use it for the OOo lists and only rarely read other mails sent to it.
