Everyone wants stability, nobody wants bureaucracies, but the thing is, they happen, and they tend to grow on their own. > We all agree we (as developers) should make life easier for the most > important resource of the project, the folksmappers. I would think that *most* mappers, and indeed almost all of the most "valuable" mappers in terms of data input are sort-of pioneers anyway, so I would not think they would feel uncomfortable switching software every so often. In three or four years I will most probably say otherwise, but for now I suggest we keep our good track record of being flexible, and open. And sacrifice the convenience and backwards compatibility until there's actual need to change that method of updating. - -- Dirk-Lüder "Deelkar" Kreie Bremen - 53.0952°N 8.8652°E -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIJtUbFUbODdpRVDwRAoLFAJ9uFFt1BNDm5eKzVZAo4kMFsPpkNwCeK4gV ctizg+zCiJiw4j/RWJ9LiXA= =QpY1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
