Almien (OJW) has written pyrender, a cool python on-the-fly renderer that only
requires python and cairo. Think of it as a poor-man's mapnik.

Although in embryonic state, it does nice things already and it's easy to
render an infinite number of overlay layers. It would be trivial for example to
have all kinds of languages as overlays that can be turned on/off.

Pyrender currently looks like this:

I'd like to thank OJW for creating the toy. I find it kind of useful for
debugging data already.

Ahh, and bar the text thingie, it's all in SVN.

P.S. don't kill us for reinventing yet another renderer.
