On May 8th I asked here "Q. about indoor routing: Overlaying way-graphs,
tags for floor, stairway, escalator, lift?"

No after a while there are some footways inside buildings like here in
Hannover
(http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=52.35364&lon=9.72461&zoom=17&layers=B000FTF)
and in Rapperswil (http://tinyurl.com/no3uwq):
That's ok so far and seems to work with routing software.

My 'problem' is that this looks graphically overloaded - think even
about footways in several floors!

Q1. What about a new tag "indoor=yes" in addition to "highway=footway"?
Q2. Renderer (like Mapnik / Osmarender) then chould suppress these footways?

Yours, S.
