Thank you for reply.
In fact there was some typo in my osm-template.xml. I used the freshly
downloaded file now but the result is just the same (blank osm.xml).

customize-mapnik-map just exchanges parameters in this
file and "print out" osm.xml. (">" redirects it to a file..)

the current equivalent?
I couldn't find "inc" subfolder in mapnik folder. There's "include"
folder though with hundred of hpp files.
