Hi! In the course of the Antarctica coastline update (see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Antarctica/Import_2013) we want to change how the coastline of Antarctica is represented in OSM. Specifically the coastline currently only works for the usual Mercator web maps but not other projections and we want to fix that.

(The other stuff might be interesting, too, though.) If you are extracting coastline data from OSM yourself, you should probably be aware of these issues.
