Just a note: if I hack my local file, and then after testing, upstream
(ie, you) updates CVS with a line that doesn't match my CVS, then my
tree will have diverged and will require a manual merge to get them
back in sync.

Doesn't seem ideal, but I don't have a clear suggestion. My goals are
to have my Gentoo ebuild manage my CVS for low manual overhead, and to
rebuild frequently to track updates and provide feedback as a
community member.

Maybe I'd have some preference for maybe a CHANDLERBUILDBLEED variable
which you would use as a conditional to switch in these tests. My
ebulid could perhaps use set such that make variable if a
corresponding "Gentoo USE" switch is set.

I dunno, just a thought. I've edited my tree with the updated Twisted
reference and am rebuilding now. If I have to merge later, no big
deal.
