We're certainly going to have some more search functionality in the
future, it's on the rough plan to do by 1.0.
What you'd specifically like to do with adding up hours spent on
tasks, you might even be able to do today, with a little bit of
scripting. Morgen and Ted have experimented more than anyone else
with the ability to script Chandler's object access, so should this
become sufficiently interesting to you, their past writings and wiki
pages would be useful. The tagging/categorization features that might
make it into 0.7 might also make that task easier for you.

This is a great product -- I just downlaoded it yesterday and love
the interface. But there is one component to it that I cannot seem
to find, and I'd liket o know if it just isn't there yet or if I'm
just not seeing how to do it:
Is there any way to search my calendar for a certain phrase and
display all events that have that particular phrase in their title
and/or description?
If not, is this functionality going to be added in the future?
Ideally I would *really* like to be able to use Chandler to keep
track of the number of hours spent on certain tasks. In order to
do so, the program would need to be able to do two things: (1)
perform the search I asked about above, and (2) let the user
highlight multiple events and show the total amount of time spent
on those highlighted events.
Thanks
