Hi Alex,

as Stefan already mentioned you can obtain commercial support for OTRS,
see http://otrs.org/support/ for more information.

However, we have already connected two OTRS-instances. OK it's a while
ago: it was based on OTRS 2.04. The first instance was used to process
and manage test protocols, which were entered as tickets or articles
respectively. If a test was unsuccessful, the article was sent to
another OTRS-instance which was used for development-/bug-repairing
organisation. The transfer method for this interface was an protocol
based on encrypted email (since the OTRS-instances where located in
different DMZs and there was no way to get some firewall clearing -
email was ok).

Since the c.a.p.e. IT is a partner of the OTRS AG we support them in
some projects. For instance. right now I'm developing an interface from
OTRS to some CRM-System on behalf of the OTRS AG. There are already some
ideas for interlinking two (or more) OTRS-instances on my whiteboard
(and even more in my head :)). From this point of view, I'm sure there's
 a solution for your problem.
