Hi Paimon community,
Following the earlier discussion thread [1], I'd like to call a vote on accepting **paimon-cpp** as a sub-project of Apache Paimon. ### Background Paimon-cpp is a high-performance C++ implementation of Apache Paimon, developed by the Storage Service team at Alibaba. It is currently hosted at https://github.com/alibaba/paimon-cpp under the Apache License 2.0. The goal is to provide a native C++ library that allows native engines to access Paimon lakehouse tables with high efficiency and less overhead. Bringing paimon-cpp under the Apache Paimon project would help maintain consistent format semantics, reduce the risk of ecosystem fragmentation, and foster collaborative, cross-language development within the community. ### Donation Plan As discussed, we plan to create a sub-project under Apache Paimon, split the code into PRs and review them before merging into the repository. ### Source Code - Current repository: https://github.com/alibaba/paimon-cpp - License: Apache License 2.0 ### Vote Please vote on whether to accept paimon-cpp into the Apache Paimon project: - [ ] **+1** Accept paimon-cpp as a sub-project of Apache Paimon - [ ] **+0** No opinion - [ ] **-1** Do not accept (please provide specific comments) **Voting rules:** - At least **3 binding votes (+1) from PMC members** are required. - **No vetoes (-1) should remain unresolved. - The vote will be open for **at least 72 hours**.
