Wes McKinney commented on PARQUET-1029:
---------------------------------------
I investigated this a little -- I'm so sorry, I was misled by the recent API
change with ReadBatch. This is actually a regression from 1.1.0 that I
pinpointed to
https://github.com/apache/parquet-cpp/commit/fc5228af3eee2ec8176e404ecb34b7ba985d0e4d
I'm renaming the issue to explain the cause and will help find a fix ASAP. In
the meantime! You can unblock yourself by using the 1.1.0 release of parquet-cpp
Sorry about the confusion and we'll get this fixed and properly tested as soon
as we can (you are welcome to look into it, but I'll ask [~Max Risuhin] to take
a look since it was his patch originally)

> Relatively new to C++.
> I'm attempting to import Parquet-Cpp into my own C++ source code outside of a
> project. I've added this questiond here as well:
>
> https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44507840/linking-a-shared-library-from-a-large-github-project?noredirect=1.
> Basically when I'm trying to link my source code to libparquet.so libraries
> and header files, the compiler is successful but the linker fails with
> undefined reference errors.
> I've written about the issue in a lot of detail in the questions above. If
> required I can explain it again here?
