Thanks Fokko for bringing this up! I think we have accumulated enough new features and improvements to be released and it is a good time to make such a release as per the new release guidelines.
My question is whether to remove the parquet-scala module in this version. The CI jobs start failing on it already. According to another thread on the dev mailing list, I am inclined to remove it.
