I'd really like to push PDFBox 2.0 as a complete replacement for PDFBox 1.8
and that alone might be a good reason for maintaining JDK 1.6 compatibility. We
generally haven't been trying to workaround any JDK bugs which have been fixed
in later versions - though we have numerous workarounds for as yet unfixed JDK
bugs!
