Resolution: Won't Fix
Sorry, this won't happen. 2.0 was very much redesigned, so it isn't possible to
use these changes in 1.8. Creating an issue and giving it highest priority and
flagging it as "important" won't change that. See also my answer to you in the
user mailing list.
