Please keep in mind that we are a small team and our resources are limited, so
don't expect that your changes will be merged immediately.
As your contribution will be a substantial change we'd like to ask you to sign
a [CLA|http://www.apache.org/licenses/contributor-agreements.html]. Feel free
to ask if there are any further question
W.r.t. the usage of java 8 for the trunk. We didn't need that in the past but I
myself am thinking about using streams, so IMHO there won't be any issue with
bumping to java 8. But we have to discuss that on dev@ first
