That's correct. I found the following line in the apache2.conf file (supplied by Gentoo package management system):
Include conf/modules.d/*.conf
hmm... so wildcards are in by default on gentoo. does anyone else know of other standard distributions that use wildcards? I certainly don't want the warning to raise lots of eyebrows and suspicions...
It was just paranoia on my part when I stopped the build.
Just to let you know that I'm happy to report that regardless of applying your patch, letting the build continue is sufficient to get 100% success on all tests.
