Ok, sure - let's wait to hear explicitly from [~lhofhansl]. FWIW, having it in
master is unlikely to get further testing than we've already had, as our user
community does not typically use master. So far we've had a clean run on both
the regression tests and our b/w compat test suite. I'll see if [~mujtaba] can
run our performance suite comparing 4.2.2 against master to get a further data
point.
