You'll need to read all of the array before appending to it. The array is in a
single KV. It's possible that under some circumstances this operation could be
pushed to the server and executed there (so that the array doesn't need to be
returned to the client). UPSERT has last-write-win semantics. When transactions
come online, we'll be able to detect row-level write conflicts.
