CDH5 is based on 0.96.1.1.  CDH5.1 which should arrive soon is very likely
based on 0.98.1+.  I'd suggest we just move on and just skip the
significant list of backporting work compiled by our Jeffrey Zhong up in
the above cited issue just to get Phoenix to work on CDH5.0.x.  (Is it
unreasonable asking folks to upgrade their CDH if they want to run Phoenix?)
