Will do. For now we are going to make it a configurable option via a setting
as to whether we use MRInputAMSplitGenerator (generate in AM) or
MRInputSplitDistributor (generate in client). People with unsecure clusters can
then choose to use MRInputAMSplitGenerator irrespective of availability of
MAPREDUCE-5663

Yes. PigInputFormat and PigOutputFormat wrap underlying formats.
