Ups … Benedikt (stupid auto correction) ;-)

Hi Benedict,
I think that we could definitely do something like this, but I guess we
would have to provide manageable units of functionality.
But I think it might be a challenge to get young people to choose working
on industrial protocols if they can work on the next new JavaSript framework ;-)
But still I think we should give it a go. Unfortunately, I don’t have an
Idea of how big/small such a unit of work should be. And I guess we would have
to put it down in words somehow.
Anyone here ever done such GSoC mentoring?

Hi all,
Google Summer of Code is a program by Google which founds students
working on open source projects [1]. As far as I know it’s not to hard to
participate as Apache project. I think this is a good way to get more people
from diverse backgrounds on board. The organization registration for GSoC 2018
starts on January 4th, 2018. I think we should really be part of this, since
there is a lot of work to do in PLC4X.
WDYT?
Benedikt
