+1 for having pre-built binaries. I think it is a great way to expand the number of people we can reach (There's a lot of cool stuff in PLC4X). Also having links on the website to download would be handy.
I'd try and avoid jars for this only because it isn't a normal format people would expect to see. I think there's a maven plugin that creates a zip with helper scripts for windows for java. Definitely exe's would be my choice. Also need to be careful about collecting information from the user, I'm no way an expert on this but some concerns. - How do we handle the data when we have it? store it on github? Who do we share it with? GDPR scares me. - How do we get the user to understand what is in the package that they are sending? How do we know they are ok with this?
