Hi all, I think we’ve all noticed issues with our current SPI.
* Netty adds a lot of unnecessary complexity * Only one transport instance per connection is not sufficient for all drivers * Sharing ports among multiple connections is not possible (Multiple Modbus Serial devices on one RS485 port, Multiple BacNetIP connections requiring listening on a shared port, …) I would like to completely rewrite the SPI. But that’s going to be a lot of work. While at it, I would also like to replace our ReadBufferByteBased and WriteBufferByteBased with a version that doesn’t need third party dependencies. So I’m looking for people who would be willing to work on this with me. Anyone? Chris
