Hehe … my favorite red wine 😉 Aaaaah … ok … to Malbec is some sort of IDE making use of Merlot? I never really realized there were two things … I just remembered: Something with Red Wine 😉 Now I know why I was a bit confused when seeing that Merlot is some Edge Gateway and couldn’t find the connection to NetBeans 😉
Well … first of all … welcome here to you and Luis. Admittedly especially the Edge Gateway is actually something I have on my ToDo List for ToddySoft and I wish I had realized earlier that the red-wine initiatives were two separate ones. I think it’s important to work on branches if you refactor something that would break existing functionality on develop. You folks are working on something new … I don#t have any objections to simply work on that on develop. This way you wouldn’t have to continuously merge in changes from upstream resulting in commit messages with pages long summaries of dependabot nonsense which hides what the commit is actually about. So … again welcome the two of you 😊 Chris Von: Daniel Campos <[email protected]> Datum: Mittwoch, 1. Juli 2026 um 16:54 An: [email protected] <[email protected]> Betreff: Malbec Hi, everyone. I'm Daniel Campos (dandrvms at github), a member of the CEOS Automatización team alongside Luis Rodríguez and César García. I'm working on the development of Malbec, an automation tool that wraps around Merlot and works as a high-level layer to facilitate the parameter and device configuration, as well as many other automation activities. This environment is being developed on top of the NetBeans RCP, leveraging its high modularity and the ease with which it can be extended by creating new modules. Currently, my work focuses on developing a recipe editor. This tool enables the configuration of both the physical and procedural models, as well as the creation of recipes in compliance with the ISA-88 (S88) standard for batch processing systems. Best regards, Daniel
