Florian Heckl already proposed a create Metapackage Shellscript that does the same and could be used within the build process which is important to do. You're repacking is/was the kind of thing we did with 1.1.x and earlier 680 Milestones. It was not part of the official packing process and therefore not QA proven and it needed additional work to be done. In addition it may have prevented other native language projects to provide OS X packages because of missing capacities. At first I too thought it's o.k. to repack by hand and didn't understand why we shouldn't do it and so on (you can read it in the archives of this list) but now that we have the automatic packing I don't want to miss it. What I will do is take a look at your Icons and other additions maybe we can use them. Do you have a JCA so that we can put them, if they have the right LGPL/SISL licence, into the official distribution.
